
TradeAway TradeCredits can be used to purchase other items, services and real estate on TradeAway from users that have agreed to sell all or a portion of their listing with TradeCredits. TradeCredits can be spent immediately or held for future use to buy items, services or real estate from other TradeAway users that may be willing to accept TradeCredits. You may also make offers to any TradeAway user referring them to this page. These users may or may not agree to the sale of their item for TradeCredits.
Business is much easier with TradeCredits. They are safer to use than the transfer of cash because no transfers are made from your account until you authorize the debit. With TradeCredits, no trade takes place until both parties are registered TradeCredits users and each has agreed that the transaction is satisfactory.

At the time that the TradeBroker contacts you, you can tell us the amount of TradeCredits you would like to have in your account and we can either bill your credit card or you can send a check or money order. In some cases we may buy a product or commodity that you have.
When listing your item/service/real-estate, select the option that reads "I Will Accept TradeCredits For This Item".

There is no minimum or maximum TradeCredits transaction amount. There is however a minimum $3.50 transaction fee.
It is absolutely free to register for TradeCredits membership. List items that you will accept TradeCredits for and to browse items that other Users are willing to take TradeCredits for. TradeAway charges a cash fee to the buyer, 4% of the transaction value, when the transaction is completed by the TradeBroker, seller and buyer. NO fees are due until you spend the TradeCredits. These fees will be higher if you contract to have the listings worked by the TradeBroker however, these fees will be negotiated and agreed to in advance.
The 3.5% transaction fee that is charged by TradeAway is a cash payment only and cannot be paid with TradeCredits. There is a minimum $3.50 transaction fee. Payment can be paid in check, credit card or money order. The credits will not be released from an account until this fee is paid unless other arrangements with management are made. In some cases, a secured note to company will be acceptable in larger transactions.
The Internal Revenue service recognizes one TradeCredit as being equivalent to one American dollar and treats all barter transactions as taxable events just like any cash transaction.
Each state and province varies regarding how much sales tax is charged on a transaction, therefore please check with your accountant or local tax office to determine the correct amount. Any sales tax obligations will be the responsibility of the buyer and/or seller.

Yes you can, right up to the time you agree to accept TradeCredits. A product can be partially or fully purchased with TradeCredits.
Once you have contacted TradeAway and set up your TradeCredit account you will be able to call our automated system to inquire anytime about your TradeCredits. The TradeBroker will provided this to you at registration.

Both the seller and buyer must sign up for TradeCredits prior to the deal being completed. Once both parties have a TradeCredit account number the Seller will call in and enter a transfer to the Buyer's account. The Seller will need to know the Buyer's account number. The transfer is complete. The Buyer is responsible for the 4% transaction fee.
When you purchase your TradeCredits you will receive an invoice at the end of the month. A statement of your account will be mailed to you monthly. Your account stays on file until you wish to purchase something. TradeCredits are held in this manner for up to 10 years from the last day of activity, at that time your account will be purged from our system.
