Map of Montana – 1887 Which of the following would you not find in Montana? a) The Yellowstone River b) Flathead Lake, c) The Hell Gate River, d) Bitter Root Mts? Oh! Trick question! They are all in Montana and all listed on this map from Cram’s Unrivaled Atlas dated 1887. The place names on this map conjure images of the old west just reading this map. Towns like Bozeman, Butte and Missoula; Rivers like the Missouri, Powder River, and the Little Big Horn; the Crow, Flathead, Blackfeet and Assinabone Indian Reservation and the early route of the Northern Pacific Railroad are all identified clearly. Condition: The map measures 12 ½ by 18 ½ inches, printed in four color with clear, easily read labeling. There is age browning around the edges but not extending into the map. This would not be noticable when framed. The paper is not brittle but is fragile. There are not marks, writing or tears on the map.
