  What is TradeMail?

Trademail is an internal e-mail system designed by TradeAway to help keep your e-mail address private. Trademail is also used to communicate with other users while working out the details of sales and trades.

Trademail comes in handy if you are traveling and have access to the Internet, but not your e-mail program. Simply go to Trademail and correspond without missing a beat!

There are 3 ways to access Trademail:

1. From any item's listing page (the page that shows an item's picture, description, etc.)

2. If you receive a Trademail, TradeAway will notify you via e-mail with a link to your Trademailbox.

3. From the top menu bar found on most pages. Click "User Services" then "Check/Send Trademail."

How to Send a New Trademail Message...

Open your Trademailbox by using any of the steps listed above. Enter your password (if you haven't already done so previously in your visit to TradeAway).

Click the "New Message" button at the bottom of the page. This will open a blank Trademail sheet for you to type your message.

Enter the username of the person you wish to Trademail. Remember that usernames are case sensitive, so be sure to capitalize the necessary characters.

Type in a brief subject of your Trademail, and in the space provided below that, type your message.

Press "Send." Your Trademail is sent immediately, and the recipient will be notified that they've got Trademail.

Checking Trademail...

If you have new messages, TradeAway will notify you via e-mail. Click on the link in your e-mail to go to your Trademailbox.

Once you have entered your username and password (if you haven't already done so previously in your visit to TradeAway), your mailbox will appear and your unread messages will have a "New" icon beside them. Click on the subject line of the message to read it.

Replying to a Trademail...

Simply press "Reply" and then type your reply above the message you just read. Press "Send" when you are finished.

Deleting a Trademail...

Press "Delete." The message will be deleted immediately. Once you delete a Trademail, there is no way to retrieve it. Be sure to print out any correspondence you wish to keep before deleting!

Printing Trademail...

Use your Internet browser (for example, Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, etc.) to print Trademail. Each browser is different, but most have a "File" button to click and from there click "Print." The current page will print, so be sure the message you wish to print is displayed.

Important: Trademail is used for working out offer details. For example, let's say an offer states in the conditions that the other party would like you to pay shipping costs. If you think it is more fair to split shipping, you can reply to the offer via Trademail, and state, "I'll pay half of shipping." If the offering party agrees, they will need to update their offer to state that you each pay half. Then you may accept the offer once the conditions are agreeable, and specified correctly in the conditions and stipulations box in the offer.
